A CWA (Climbing Wall Association) certified Climbing Wall Instructor will facilitate this course.
Participants will complete risk management for indoor climbing facilities, safety checks on climbing equipment, proficiency in tying safety knots, the importance of partner checks, how to manage a climber and rope, weight distribution and lowering of a climber with the use of the GriGri.
Certification will be provided after a retest which will take place a minimum of 24 hours after the Learn to Belay course is completed.

TAKE THE LEAD (LEARN TO LEAD)
Lead climbing is a technique in rock climbing where the lead climber clips their rope to the climbing protection as they ascend the climbing route, while their second remains at the base of the route belaying the rope to protect the lead climber in the event that they fall.
For Ages 17 and up.
Prerequisite: 1 year of belaying experience
